Event Showcases Post-Acute Care Industry-Renown Experts Who Will Address SNF Survey Trends, COVID-19 Vaccine Mandates and Social Determinants of Health
ASHEVILLE, NC, NOVEMBER 9, 2021 – Broad River Rehab (BRR) today announces its full-day Winter CE Education Symposium, to be held Friday, December 10 at the Omni Grove Inn Park in Asheville. This event will offer CE credits, certified by the NAB. There is no cost to attend.

Survey Trends and Tips for Skilled Nursing Facilities
Speaker: Ken Burgess, JD Shareholder, Baker Donelson Bearman Caldwell & Berkowitz
This session explores current survey trends for SNFs, including trends in FTags being cited; scope and severity levels, Immediate Jeopardy citation trends and recent trends in Informal Dispute Resolution (“IDR”) proceedings. The session also addresses when to consider taking a citation to IDR; how best to position your case for IDR; timing of the various survey and appeal processes and other tips for minimizing the impact of survey citations.
Mandating the COVID Vaccine in Your Workplace
Speaker: Matt Gray, Young Moore and Henderson, P.A.
This program identifies key criteria an employer should consider when developing a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy, such as:
- The mandate
- Who is subject to the mandate,
- When and where employees should get vaccinated,
- Who will pay for any costs of vaccination,
- What proof of vaccination is required and what documentation must be supplied,
- When and where alternative testing (if allowed) must be done,
- When and how results of testing should be reported to the employer, and
- Why an employee might qualify for an exemption and what documentation is required.
Social Determinants of Health: Impact and Opportunity in Post-Acute Care
Speaker: Dr. Kendall Brune, PhD, MBA, FACHCA
This course explores the impact of social determinants of health and provide considerations for care across the PAC spectrum.
