The purpose of this program is to identify residents who may require continued skilled care after traditional, restorative therapy has ended. Some residents and some disease processes are so inherently complex and sophisticated that the skills of a clinician are required in order to maximize or maintain the progress made during therapy or to prevent or slow further deterioration in function due to a disease process that may be progressive in nature. These services require the judgement, knowledge, and skills that only a licensed therapist can perform in order to enhance the resident’s quality of life.
