The purpose of this program is to identify residents at risk for or with mental health issues. Mental health illness and disease can be extremely disabling and impact an individual’s ability to engage in healthy occupations, engage in work and leisure, and maintain family and social relationships. The purpose is to identify individuals that would benefit from interventions to enhance their ability to engage with others, promote independence in occupations, reduce and/or eliminate unwanted behaviors, and aid in a medication reduction. Interprofessional practice is key to a successful program.
